Our story

As a kid, our owner aspired to be a chef, watching every cooking show obsessively. She then realized that she was a bit too picky to become a chef. So she later decided she wanted to own her own business. This idea lead her to pursue her marketing career, hoping that this would help prepare her.

After 5 years of learning and growing professionally, she decided it was time. She started exploring and researching what need could be filled in her hometown. During this period, she was spending more time in the kitchen cooking. (She did eventually stop being so picky). This subliminal sign later led to what is now The Pearl Plate—the only kitchenware shop in Madison or within 45 miles of her hometown.

And so the doors to The Pearl Plate opened in September of 2022. We now spend our days hunting for new kitchen treasures, talking to our wonderful customers, and thinking of what we’re going to make for dinner that night (just kidding.. kinda). We are a woman-owned business running out of our small shop in beautiful Madison, Indiana. We are eager to invite you to our dream finally fulfilled.
